Who we are

At Alpha Dog Services, we build confident dogs and confident handlers. We equip both dogs and their humans with the skills, structure, and support they need to build strong, lasting relationships based on leadership, trust, and communication.

Alpha Dog Services was founded by Diego Rodriguez, a second-generation dog trainer who grew up in Las Vegas learning the ropes from his father and other trusted mentors. From a young age, Diego understood that great training is more than commands; it is about building a bond, creating trust, and empowering both the dog and the handler.

After college, Diego moved to northern Utah, where he began helping neighbors and friends with their dogs. What started as a few favors quickly grew into a successful business.

We specialize in training focused on leadership, consistency, and trust between the dog and their handler—achieved one-on-one, in your home. Every dog is different, so we don’t believe in cookie-cutter programs. Instead, we tailor each training plan to your dog’s personality, history, and specific needs—whether you’re raising a new puppy, working through behavioral issues, or training a future emotional support animal. We show you how to take the lead in your dogs training, ensuring long-term success.

While training is at the heart of what we do, Alpha Dog Services also offers trusted care services, including In-Home Sitting, Drop-In Visits, and our Find-a-Dog Program.

We chose the name Alpha because we believe in leadership—not domination. In our philosophy, being the alpha isn’t about intimidation; it’s about confident guidance, mutual respect, and clear communication.
